Got on the plane headed to Abu Dhabi. Headed back on Delta. My favorite route through Amsterdam. Unfortunately, there was some kind of delay on my flight from Detroit, so there would be NO free time in Amsterdam this trip.
I remember the old SNL "Buh-Bye" skit with David Spade as a rude flight attendant. But the ones we had on our flight from Detroit to Amsterdam were UNBELIEVABLE. Ugh. They were just so rude. I will give you just one example. There was this poor Russian Ballet dancer with a bad back that just wanted to sleep behind something on the floor. This big, beastly flight attendant accused him of being drunk and then brought another flight attendant over to threaten to put him in handcuffs if he did it again. I protested to the woman in defense of this guy and she went on a huge tirade...ok fine, you want to be that way...then we'll just have some wine. We decided to have some fun in spite of their nastiness.
After I got to Amsterdam I had to practically run to my plane. I got on and sunk down in to my seat ready to sleep for the next 6 hours. I woke up suddenly feeling very sick. I got up and headed to the back of the plane. I saw a flight attendant in the galley and asked her where the bathroom was. She pointed around the corner and....down I went. I guess I tried to grab on to something...anything...to keep myself from falling, and ended up grabbing a tray full of water or something that came crashing down with me. Totally fainted! The flight attendants came to my rescue. Thank God that didn't happen on the previous flight or I might have found myself pepper sprayed or something. Thankfully, they were very nice and made sure I was ok. We finally arrived in Abu Dhabi...well I did anyway..my bags...not so much. Seems they didn't make it on the flight from Amsterdam. Ooops...I will have to wait for them to arrive tomorrow.
