Little Buddy

I was on my way to quiz night when I happened to drive by a little puppy all tangled up in the rope he was tied to attached to a fence.  Poor little guy.  I stopped my car, but he was so tied up, the the only way to free him was to take the rope off of his neck.  I thought he might run away, but instead he just cowered under a tree.

I untangled the rope, looked around, and noticed that there was no food or water for the dog.  There was a dumped over plate of Biryani rice, but I wasn't sure if that was meant for the dog, or just thrown away.  I scanned the immediate area for any sign of an owner.  None.

I scooped up the little guy, put him in my car and took him home.  I put him in my bathroom and headed off to quiz night.

At the quiz, I saw a friend of mine and mentioned to him that I had just found a dog.  "I'll take him."  He said without hesitation. "Really?"  I exclaimed.  I couldn't believe my good fortune!

When I got home, he was still just sitting in the same spot in the bathroom.  Bat Boy came over to check him out.  He just stared at him wide-eyed for about 30 minutes while simultaneously sniffing the air.  He finally narrowed his eyes and gave out a hiss while the poor dog cowered in my arms.  I guess Bat Boy decided he didn't like him.

The sweet puppy slept with me that night.  In the morning, I pulled a couple of ticks out of his ears and took him to the vet. He was malnourished and only about 3 months old they assessed.  He hung out with me until that evening when my friend came to pick up the dog.  I'm glad he came when he did, because after another day, I probably wouldn't have been willing to give him up.

My friend says the dog is doing great and that his 3 girls love him.  They named him "Buddy."  I can't wait to see him so I can have some new pictures to update.
