Gay Paree!!!

I had a bit of time off and heard my parents were going to be in Paris. The original plan was to go to Bahrain for a few days, on to Paris and then back to Alex. Well, let's just say those plans fell through, so I ended up going to France and on to Spain. I flew into CDG airport and managed to take the bus to the city.  My parents were staying in the Montparnasse area but I couldn't find the hotel for over an hour and it was freezing cold; practically snowing!  Apparently this was a record cold week. Thankfully, the next day we had a tour booked of the city in a nice, warm tour bus.

First, we drove around the city seeing sights such as Les Invalides, the obelisk in Concorde plaza, the Louvre, and Notre Dame Cathedral. We stopped and took a few pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower. COLD! Then we drove over and had lunch in the Eiffel Tower.

After lunch, my dad and I decided to climb towards the top of the tower...but it was way too cold and windy. We gave up and headed over to the bus.

That afternoon, our tour continued to Versailles where we did a tour of the grand apartments. My favorite room was the hall of mirrors where French prime Minister Clemenceau chose to sign the treaty of Versailles that ended World War I on June 28, 1919.

By then, it stared to rain a bit. Again, I was thankful for being in a tour bus that day. We went out and bought some snacks and little wine bottles to drink in our hotel room.

After all, this is Paris.

Me and my daddy!
It may have been a crappy day, but no reason not to have a little fun!
I guess someone thought he looked a little cold!
Arc de Triomphe: built between 1806 & 1836.  It stands in honor of those who have fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic wars.
Notre Dame on the Seine.
I remember the night we walked along the Seine....riding on the Metro......
