Creamfields

Creamfields is a big event with renown d.j.s from around the world. This was its second year in Abu Dhabi, held on Yas Island in Ferrari World with David Guetta (producer of the songs Sexy Chick, One Love, and Club Can't Handle Me) as the headliner.

It was a Thursday night, and so it was a work day for us. We drove 2 hours to Yas Island, hung out for a bit and had dinner. We figured David Guetta might go on around 10:30 am or so, so we headed out around 8:30. We took a shuttle bus from our hotel and I swear to God I thought I was on a high school field trip. I think the average age was 21, and they were actually singing, "The Wheels on the bus go round and round..." ugh.
The line for beer was an unbelievable hour long. To make matters worse, the schedule was pushed back and David Guetta wasn't going to come on until 3:30am. What? Ok fine.

In the meantime, we
had to suffer through some horrible rap music and some so-so d.j.s. Somehow we caught wind of a rumor that David's plane wasn't going to even arrive until 2am? How in the hell is he going to get here by 3:30.
Next thing I know, "Hi Miss Lisa!" Oh no! Students! And they're not even my students. I have no clue who they are but, lucky me, they sure know who I am!

So, we were positioned between thousands of people and 3:30 came and went. Someone went up to the d.j. on stage to talk to him. Oh my God. I'll bet they are telling him to stall for time. But after about 15 minutes, I'll bet the d.j. said, "Screw this. I did my time and I got paid, I am outta here." He left and the crowd started booin
g.

Finally, 4:30 am , David shows up on stage looking strangely like Tom Petty on the monitors and said, "Sorry about that, just flew 30 hours from Los Angeles!" What? First of all it doesn't take 30 hours. Second of all, why is he flying a commercial airline?
" 6 am! Finally finished! We can go to bed!!!
