One Day, Three Dives

I managed to cram in three dives today.  I went with Octopus Divers.  They were really great. It had been awhile, so I was a little nervous.  I had my cheap dive camera with me. The batteries weren't so great.

I was really scared, but decided to go on the only night dive of the week.  I came to really trust my dive master, and the dive was near the shore and only 9 meters down.  I ended up not taking my camera, because I had to hold a flashlight and didn't want to be too distracted.  A French guy I had been diving with all day brought his.  He didn't speak any English, but his wife got my email address, and they are supposed to send some of the pics he sent.

These are just some pics I lifted off the internet, but this is basically what we saw.

White-tipped reef sharks, a BIG sea turtle sleeping under some rocks...a parrot fish sleeping in its mucus cocoon...what??!!

I took this picture from the internet, but here is what a parrot fish looks like sleeping in its "mucus bubble."  Apparently it secretes it from it's mouth to keep predators from smelling it.  It also acts as a warning system in case an eel tries to penetrate the cocoon.  I touched it and it is really quite firm!

And there were quite a few scorpion fish.  Don't touch!

That was it for the night and the whole day!  What fun!  Back for more dives tomorrow.
