I met a guy named Thomas Jaeger (yes, like the drink) through the Hash group that has been living in Egypt for three years with his wife. He teaches at a German school here in Alexandria. He seems to know of a lot of cool places to eat.
Tonight he told us about a small little cafe that is a fruit market during the day, and a restaurant that serves Quail at night. Quail? Yep. so, we met a Thomas's place. had a few drinks, and headed out through the maze of side streets to the little restaurant.
I never had Quail before and I must say it was really good. No, it didn't quite taste like chicken, but good none the less.
Mmmmm...roasted Quail. Not bad!
Maybe we'll even order seconds!
Mural on the Quail restaurant wall.
I saw this not so unusual scene of a family on a scoot er on our way home.
